On the famous Wilhelmstraße
Sellin's Wilhelmstraße is the most famous street on Rügen for good reason. Lined with numerous white, beautifully renovated villas typical of German seaside resort architecture, the promenade embodies the maritime flair of bygone times. The penthouse's location on this street, means you are right in the centre of this charming holiday town.
Numerous shops, cafés and restaurants are located in the immediate vicinity of the penthouse. Sellin also has several supermarkets, making self-catering easy.
The beach and the famous Sellin pier are just a few minutes' walk away. The Sellin Lake - which opens up to the Greifswald Bodden, the Rasender Roland - Rügen's historic narrow-gauge railway, and the water park AHOI! are also within walking distance.
The most beautiful part of Rügen
With its location in the south-east of the island, the Baltic seaside resort of Sellin is in the most beautiful part of Rügen. The other popular seaside resorts of Binz, Baabe and Göhren as well as Granitz castle are easy to reach by car, bike or the historic railway. Sellin is also on the border of the Mönchgut peninsula, which is a paradise for nature lovers and hikers with its fjord-like landscape and unspoilt villages.
More famous sights on the island, such as the dazzling white chalk cliffs with the Königsstuhl, the picturesque harbour town of Sassnitz, Cape Arkona with its two famous lighthouses, the long sandy beach of the Schaabe and the protected island of Vilm are also in easy reach of Sellin. Other attractions in the surrounding area of Rügen, such as the Hanseatic towns of Stralsund and Greifswald or the car-free Hiddensee, can also be visited.
